About the classification
The Saint-Émilion classification, on the Right Bank, differs significantly from the rigid systems of the Médoc. This is a dynamic classification that is regularly reviewed and updated – approximately every ten years. Wineries are evaluated according to strict quality criteria and divided into two main categories: Grand Cru Classé and Premier Grand Cru Classé. The latter is the higher level, which is further subdivided into ranks A and B. This system allows changes in quality to be reflected promptly. It is proof that even in a traditional region like Saint-Émilion, progress and movement are part of its identity.
