Der Grand Vin von Château Le Pin zählt zu den begehrtesten Rotweinen aus Pomerol. Im Glas zeigt er tiefrote bis violette Reflexe, getragen von Aromen reifer dunkler Beeren, Veilchen, Trüffel und feiner Vanillenoten. Geschmacklich überzeugt er mit seidigem Tannin, eleganter Struktur und einer bemerkenswerten Balance zwischen Frucht, Holz und Mineralität.
Der Ausbau erfolgt in 100 % neuen französischen Barriques, was dem Wein seine charakteristische Fülle und Cremigkeit verleiht. In jungen Jahren zeigt er sich opulent, doch mit etwas Reife entwickelt er eine subtile Komplexität, die an noble Burgunder erinnert – eine feine, fast feminine Seite unter der Kraft des Merlot.
Aufgrund der winzigen Produktion gelangen pro Jahr nur wenige tausend Flaschen auf den Markt, was den Kultstatus des Weins zusätzlich verstärkt.

Aromatisch zeigen die Weine intensive Noten von Schwarzkirschen, Pflaumen, Brombeeren und Veilchen, ergänzt durch Trüffel, Gewürze, dunkle Schokolade und feine mineralische Anklänge. Mit zunehmender Flaschenreife entwickeln sich Facetten von Leder, Unterholz und exotischen Gewürzen.

Charakteristisch ist die außergewöhnliche Textur. Trotz ihrer Konzentration wirken die Weine niemals schwer, sondern verbinden Fülle mit bemerkenswerter Eleganz und Präzision.

Ausbau & Vinifikation

Die Gärung erfolgt in kleinen Edelstahltanks. Anschließend wird der Wein rund 16–18 Monate im neuen Eichenholz gereift. Dieser sorgfältige, handwerkliche Prozess spiegelt die Philosophie wider, jede Parzelle separat zu vinifizieren, um die Einzigartigkeit des Bodens hervorzuheben.

Das Weingut Le Pin liegt im Herzen der Appellation Pomerol auf dem rechten Ufer der Gironde. Mit nur rund 2,7 Hektar Rebfläche zählt es zu den kleinsten, aber angesehensten Anwesen der gesamten Bordeaux Region. Gegründet wurde es 1979 von Jacques Thienpont, der den unscheinbaren Weinberg zu einem Symbol modernen Luxusweins machte.
Seither gehört Le Pin neben Petrus und Vieux Château Certan zu den drei Ikonen der Appellation. Obwohl es keine Klassifikation wie im Médoc gibt, gilt Le Pin aufgrund seiner Qualität und Seltenheit als einer der wertvollsten Luxusweine weltweit. Jede Flasche wird streng limitiert – oft nur wenige tausend pro Jahrgang – und ist bei Sammlern heiß begehrt.
