Italy is not only one of the oldest wine-producing countries in the world, but also one of the most diverse. From the alpine north to the hot south, from the Mediterranean coasts to the heights of the Apennines – hardly any other country offers such a range of grape varieties, climate zones, and wine styles. With over 20 wine regions, more than 400 autochthonous grape varieties, and a deeply rooted culture of enjoyment, Italy is one of the most important wine producers worldwide.

The wines of Château Le Pin

The Grand Vin of Château Le Pin is one of Pomerol's most sought-after red wines. In the glass it shows deep red to violet reflections, with aromas of ripe dark berries, violet, truffle and fine vanilla notes. On the palate it impresses with silky tannins, elegant structure and remarkable balance between fruit, oak and minerality.
The wine is aged in 100% new French barriques, giving it characteristic richness and creaminess. In youth it is opulent, but with some maturity it develops subtle complexity reminiscent of fine Burgundy – an elegant, almost feminine side beneath Merlot's power.
Because production is tiny, only a few thousand bottles reach the market each year, further reinforcing the wine's cult status.

Aromatically, the wines show intense notes of black cherry, plum, blackberry and violet, complemented by truffle, spices, dark chocolate and fine mineral hints. With bottle age, facets of leather, forest floor and exotic spices emerge.

The exceptional texture is a defining feature. Despite their concentration, the wines never feel heavy, combining richness with remarkable elegance and precision.

    Ageing & vinification

Fermentation takes place in small stainless-steel tanks. The wine is then matured for around 16–18 months in new oak. This careful, artisanal process reflects the philosophy of vinifying each parcel separately to highlight the individuality of its soil.

    Château Le Pin

Le Pin lies in the heart of the Pomerol appellation on the Right Bank of the Gironde. With only around 2.7 hectares of vineyards, it is one of the smallest yet most highly regarded estates in the entire Bordeaux region. It was founded in 1979 by Jacques Thienpont, who transformed the unassuming vineyard into a symbol of modern luxury wine.
Since then, Le Pin has joined Petrus and Vieux Château Certan as one of the three icons of the appellation. Although Pomerol has no classification system like the Médoc, Le Pin's quality and rarity make it one of the world's most valuable luxury wines. Every bottle is strictly limited – often only a few thousand per vintage – and highly sought after by collectors.

    Le Pin – a
wine that unites myth and modernity.
