Red wines from Burgundy are the epitome of finesse: elegant, fragrant, and extremely terroir-driven. Almost always, everything is based on Pinot Noir – depending on the origin, the style ranges from light-fruited and playful to deep, spicy, and very complex. Typical aromas include cherry, raspberry, strawberry, violet, fine spices, and with age, also undergrowth, mushroom, and leather.

What makes Burgundy so special is its focus on location and soil: even a few meters can change the character. Good Burgundies combine fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a silky texture – perfect with poultry, duck, veal, mushroom dishes, or simply on their own if you love elegant red wines.
