Premiers Crus (1er Cru) are single-vineyard wines that come from a precisely defined parcel and are allowed to bear the name of that vineyard with the addition of Premier Cru or 1er Cru, such as Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru. There are relatively many of them, and an overview is not so easy at first glance. One has to spend a long time with Burgundy and the multitude of vineyards to truly understand it. Qualitatively, there are great differences – the wines can vary greatly in both price and quality despite the same "status."
