Red wines from Catalonia stand for character and diversity: from powerful, mineral-driven top wines to approachable, fruit-forward everyday bottles. Priorat is particularly celebrated – producing dense, profound red wines with tremendous structure, often from Garnacha (Grenache) and Cariñena (Carignan). Right next door, Montsant offers a similar style, often a touch rounder and frequently outstanding value.

Regions such as Penedès, Terra Alta, and Empordà further showcase Catalonia's range: from spicy and Mediterranean with herbal notes to juicy and fresh with easy drinkability.
