The 2016 Pétrus glides out of the glass with seductive aromas of kirsch, black plums, blueberry compote, red roses, Ceylon tea, violets, dark chocolate covered cherries, licorice and cinnamon stick with hints of iron ore, pencil lead, cigars and crushed rock. Full-bodied, profound, perfectly framed by very firm, very grainy tannins and powerful freshness, it ends with incredible length. Stunning.
