
Asphodèle Grand Vin Blanc wrong
Bérénice Lurton enjoys an excellent reputation for producing some of the best botrytized wines in the world. She converted Château Climens, a Premier Cru Classé in Barsac, into a biodynamic winery, setting new standards in the Bordeaux universe. Her idea of producing a dry white wine based on the Semillon grape was realized with the 2018 vintage. Pascal Jolivet, the famous wine producer from the Loire Valley, who was already her advisor for the biodynamic conversion, teamed up with her for this new style of wine. The result is impressive and proves that great dry wines can also be produced in Barsac. Very elegant nose with a fragrant aroma reminiscent of tangerine peel, fresh lime, white flowers, star fruit and subtle vanilla notes in the background. On the palate, juicy fruit, tangerine, lime and ripe peaches, fine acidity and elegant minerality with good balance, depth and convincing length.
