Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
The fruit is dried for four months before being aged in large-format wood for six to seven years. Nebbiolo-like aromas of tar and roses, with a core of anise, sweet cherry liqueur and mocha, through to coffee ground notes. The dried fruit extract beautifully pressed into a transparent veil of weightlessness and gripper-like intensity. There's power, that's for sure. But the overall impression - as with any great wine of this corpulence - is savoury. Wonderfully juicy length, laced with a swirl of tannin. Excellent Amarone. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.
