The grapes for the Astheimer Chardonnay grow on shell limestone in Astheim, a cool limestone site right next to the Escherndorfer Lumpp. The vines were planted by the winery itself and come from Burgundian clonal material.
100% Chardonnay. Two-thirds of the wine is aged in French barriques and 500-liter tonneaux (approx. 20% new), matured on the lees in wood for 12 months, then refined on fine lees through a second winter fermentation before bottling. This procedure – complete lees in the tank – ensures pronounced yeast complexity and spice.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0251/0248/3552/files/14321_Astheimer_Chardonnay_2023_Shop.png?v=1779098855
