Foresight and passion are still important components of the philosophy of Familia Torres today. And so Miguel A. Torres - a member of the fourth generation - is one of the first pioneers to grow Cabernet Sauvignon in Spain. With great success, because this was the birth of the legend in black "Mas La Plana". A wine of world renown, which won first place with the 1970 vintage at the 1979 Gault Millau Wine Olympics in Paris, and which relegated the renowned Bordeaux wines to the back ranks. But also climate and environmental protection is very close to Familia Torres' heart and until today more than 15.7 million Euros have been invested in this project. The "Torres&Earth" programme, which was set up specifically for this purpose, deals intensively with global warming, efficient measures for climate protection and ambitious climate goals of the company. Apart from the necessary adaptation to the challenges of global warming, Familia Torres also makes a major contribution to minimizing its own CO2 emissions, for example by using renewable energies and environmentally friendly vehicles or energy efficiency measures.

The willingness and commitment to protect the natural heritage, the land and the environment in the best possible way, the pursuit of perfection and the passion for wine culture have always been and will always be a priority for Familia Torres, passed on from generation to generation.
To produce unique wines that reflect the character of their region of origin is one of the goals of the fifth generation of Familia Torres. Miguel Torres Maczassek - General Manger - and Mireia Torres have taken a traditional but at the same time innovative path. In addition to the recultivation of old Catalan grape varieties and varieties from other areas of Spain or Chile, this also includes the revival of the cultural heritage of individual wine regions. In view of the spreading climate change, possible solutions for the future can be found
