Foresight and passion are still important components of the philosophy of Familia Torres. And so counts Miguel A. Torres - fourth generation member - among the first pioneers to grow Cabernet Sauvignon in Spain. With great success, because this was the birth of the legend in black "Mas La Plana". A world-renowned wine that took first place at the 1979 Gault Millau Wine Olympics in Paris with the 1970 vintage, relegating the well-known Bordeaux wines to the lower ranks. But climate and environmental protection is also very important to Familia Torres and to date more than 15.7 million euros have been invested in this project. The specially created program "Torres&Earth" deals intensively with global warming, efficient measures for climate protection and the company's ambitious climate goals. Apart from the necessary adaptation to the challenges of global warming, Familia Torres also makes a major contribution to minimizing its own CO2 emissions, e.g. B the use of renewable energies and environmentally friendly vehicles or energy efficiency measures.

The willingness and commitment to protect the heritage of nature, the land and the environment in the best possible way, the pursuit of perfection and the passion for wine culture have always been and continue to be very important at Familia Torres and passed on from generation to generation.
Producing unique wines that reflect the character of their region of origin is one of the goals of the fifth generation of Familia Torres. Miguel Torres Maczassek - General Manger - and Mireia Torres have taken a traditional but at the same time innovative path. In addition to the recultivation of old Catalan grape varieties and varieties from other areas of Spain or Chile, the revival of the cultural heritage of individual wine regions is also part of this. In view of the spreading climate change, possible solutions for the future can also be found.
Familia Torres owns wineries in Spain, Chile and California with excellent locations in some of the most prestigious wine regions such as Penedès, Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Rueda or Rias Baixas.
In addition, Familia Torres is a member of the Primum Familiae Vini association, which is made up of 12 renowned wine families and are among the most respected wine producers in their regions.
